Sucess story
Bharati Sunar, 32, resides in Hallanagar Tole, Shivaraj Municipality-2. After completing her vocational tailoring course, she launched her own tailoring shop-an enterprise she has now operated successfully for three years. In addition to running her business, Bharati actively mentors others, providing practical sewing training to five local women for a nominal fee.
Although the pandemic lockdowns temporarily halted her operations, her business has fully recovered and is thriving. Her shop caters to diverse local needs, specializing in school uniforms, traditional Kurtha Suruwal, and cultural Tharu attire. Gaining this trade has brought Bharati financial self-reliance, enabling her to cover all household expenses independently. Deeply grateful to trainer Miss Chanda Thapa and CDCA for the foundational training, Bharati hopes similar initiatives will be introduced across other communities to empower more women.
